Alma Berliner discovers shapes that delight - inspiration comes from the process itself. Guided by modern architecture, mid-century ceramic design and everyday objects, she is drawn to structure, sharp angles and curves. Alma shares her London studio, Turning Earth, with many talented ceramicists who support and nurture her practice.
Unlike how an architect, designer or ceramicist might work, Alma revels in spontaneity and the possibility of arranging pieces differently to the initial design. The miniatures, complement the larger pieces. They are a reference to our obsession with miniature versions of things - for example, in ceramics, furniture and food.
