For London Craft Week 2023, we are excited to be collaborating with multi award-winning, international luxury interior design studio Taylor Howes to put a spotlight on the work of ceramic artist Zuleika Melluish.

As part of their London Craft Week focus, Taylor Howes' studio in Knightsbridge will host Zuleika’s two brand new wall pieces in her highly sought-after new series of botanical porcelain sculptures, displayed alongside a selection of her ongoing domestic ware.

The studios will be open for all to visit from Tuesday 9th May to Friday 12th May (9am-6pm) and Zuleika will be spending the day there on Friday 12th May, 10am-4pm, in a pop-up studio on site, working on her next pieces.

No booking required but if you would like an introduction to Zuleika's work by Zuleika or a member of our team on any date that week, just get in touch and we would be happy to meet you there.

About Zuleika Melluish

'I enjoy the challenge of replicating every detail of the plant: first observing and dissecting the living plant and then modelling each component by hand. I am awed by the complexity of a plant’s construction and, beyond its botany, how every petal or leaf has a subtle difference in the way it curls or ripples or curves.'

Zuleika Melluish is a London-based ceramicist whose work seeks to describe plants in both their physical form and pictorially, whether viewed individually or grouped together. Her work takes direct inspiration from the plants around her, from the Wisteria that covers the outdoors walls of her Kentish Town studio to the perennial garden that she has had the opportunity to create from scratch in the foothills of the Cambrian mountains, Wales. Having begun her work in clay with functional ware, suspending the pressed impressions of plants into their forms, over the last two years she has been developing a series of botanical sculptures in porcelain which were shown for the very time at Collect fair, Somerset House, in March 2023.

Zuleika has been represented by Thrown over the past 5 years including art fairs Collect and the Edinburgh Art Fair and a large scale collaborative installation as part of ‘Growth’ at OmVed Gardens, London.
