Kirsty Adam’s work is both functional and holds aesthetic meaning, retaining the spontaneity and delicacy intrinsic to making on the potters’ wheel. A Japanese comb tool is used to create and enhance the throwing lines. Her Icelandic collection is the culmination of a research trip to Iceland to express the ‘otherworldliness’ of the landscape.
Kirsty is an award-winning ceramicist currently working from her studio in Newcastle upon Tyne. She originally trained at Brighton Art College and then on the potters’ wheel in Japan. She has developed a personal approach to throwing on the wheel using porcelain clay, to produce unique pieces for the home.

About the event
Join us for a 5-course dinner (plus welcome cocktail) created by the talented chefs at restaurant Gilvic (formerly known as Fabulous698b), Hoxton for our exhibition 'Leach 101', celebrating 100 years of the Leach Pottery, St Ives.
The menu has been creatively crafted in response to and all served on the Leach Pottery's iconic Standard Ware range as well as a special set of cups created for these events by the Leach Studio team.
The evening will be hosted within the exhibition and will feature a brief introduction to the exhibition and the featured 5 potters of the Leach Studio today. We are excited to be joined by these potters at the table on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th October to personally introduce us to their work.
On all evenings, places are limited so booking early is recommended.
Please note, all dietary requirements can be catered for.
