Maya and Guillaume from Fabulous 698b and I started working together last summer for a series of supper clubs linking to a summer show of tableware in the gallery. It’s amazing to think we’ve now done 15 events together and I swear they’re just getting better and better every time.
I can’t pick my favourite thing about them either. I will never not be surprised at how quickly and warmly our guests get to know each other, with so many emails and numbers and hugs passed around by the end of the evening. I will never get bored of giving a short introduction to a process or a particular maker that has everyone suddenly picking up and inspecting their plates - as well as everyone’s around them. And I think I will be forever saying ‘Oh wow, that looks so good’ to Fabulous 698b every time I pass by their ‘kitchen’ in the corner of the gallery. Plus don’t even get me started on the dessert. You really must join us for one of these events if you haven’t already - and if you have already too (such a pleasure to see people returning for more).
