About Tamsin Gifford
"My creative practice is mainly in clay , but i also use painting and printmaking to express myself. I think that insights in art are supported by cross discipline practice, they influence each other."
"My work tends to go in cycles connecting to my mental disposition at the time. Confident , loud , bold, mirrors when i am feeling productive and inspired hand-building and painting and then can be formal, structured, repetitive when working with slipcasting and printmaking reflecting a more low energy side to my process."
"I would decribe myself as a contemporary abstract artist. Continually inspired by nature and its forms and also drawn to the simplicity of a singe brushstroke. A touch of gold lustre is slowly becoming a signature mark."
Tamsin Gifford graduated with a BA Hons in 3D design and ceramics in 2007. She lived and worked in Brighton, curating exhibitions, before opening her own studio in Portugal in 2017 where she is still based. Her work has been exhibited in exhibitions in Switzerland, Spain and Portugal.
