About Arabella Greenhill

Working in porcelain and stoneware, Arabella Greenhill’s practice explores the fragility of the human condition. Her wheel-thrown vessels suggest containment and security, yet their torn, delicate rims and marks in the clay reveal the tension between strength and vulnerability. These raw edges become metaphors for the emotional, physical and mental scars we carry, and the personal histories embedded within us.

Through glazing, she creates contrasts of surface and texture, reflecting how outward appearances often conceal inner complexity. Each form stands as an individual, its tears and imperfections inviting reflection on resilience.

Shaped by family dynamics and a previous career in fashion editorial, where storytelling was at the core, her ceramic practice continues that narrative thread, using form, surface and detail to invite connection and reflection.

Arabella Greenhill is a London-based ceramicist creating wheel-thrown porcelain and stoneware vessels with torn edges that explore memory, family, and fragility. Her grouped forms echo communities and shared histories. A City Lit Ceramics Diploma graduate, she brings a previous career in fashion editorial to her ceramic practice.
