About the Artist
Helen de Sybel creates intense and forceful images borne from deeply personal experience. Dynamic line, colour and challenging themes forge a powerful connection with the onlooker.
Helen studied History of Art in Italy and went on to train at Harrow and Camberwell School of Art where she gained a BA (hons) and was selected as part of Christies ‘Pick of the Graduates’.
Helen works from her studio in East London, exhibiting regularly with galleries and as part of the Shoreditch community. Shows have included Soho House, St Peters De Beauvoir, The Slaughterhouse, Benjamin Rhodes Gallery, Ensign Gallery, Bonhams F.A.R.A, and exhibited as part of the Haggerston Riviera Arts festival which links East London’s businesses and galleries with the local community.
Projects have included a series of collages based on Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost’ (now in private collection) and ‘Urban Journeys’, oil and mixed media, an exploration of the human condition depicted through uncertainty and isolation.
