About the Artist
‘In my practice, I aim to incorporate texture and narrative, often creating very simple forms that will carry the intended message. My work is hand built or cast, integrating textures, colours and oxides. The narrative may be developed within a single vessel, or by combining numerous elements for wall displays or installations.’
‘Much of my work is inspired by my passion for telling the stories of South Wales, the people that drove the Industrial Revolution and the natural assets that gave this area the opportunity to lead the world.’
Kim Colebrook studied Contemporary Design Crafts BA at Hereford College of Arts and then went on to study Ceramics MA at Cardiff Met University. Upon graduating, she was awarded a Graduate Workshop at the Fireworks Clay Studios in Cardiff where she is currently based.
