About Marta Bandeira
Marta is a Portuguese Architect and Ceramicist, living and working in London. She began her journey with clay 4 years ago and is now a member at Turning earth studios in Hoxton, which is where her work comes to life.
She has a passion for handcrafting objects which leverage raw materials that reignite our bond with the natural world. In clay she explores timeless, beautifully proportioned forms, which are born through a dialogue between the organised geometry and methodical designing of architectural thinking with the spontaneity of the handcrafting process. Led by a restless curiosity for finishes and textures, she is focused in creating unique vessels, tableware and decorative objects that enhance the spaces we live in.

Kirsty Adam’s work is both functional and holds aesthetic meaning, retaining the spontaneity and delicacy intrinsic to making on the potters’ wheel. A Japanese comb tool is used to create and enhance the throwing lines. Her Icelandic collection is the culmination of a research trip to Iceland to express the ‘otherworldliness’ of the landscape.
Kirsty is an award-winning ceramicist currently working from her studio in Newcastle upon Tyne. She originally trained at Brighton Art College and then on the potters’ wheel in Japan. She has developed a personal approach to throwing on the wheel using porcelain clay, to produce unique pieces for the home.
