About the Artist
“My practice focuses mainly on painting and drawing on canvas and paper. The characters and scenes that I paint explore topics of loneliness, alienation, and violence. These characters, despite coming from personal sensations and experiences can become universal by materialising them through painting. Thus, painting as a medium enables me to explore topics which although embedded on my experience, making them highly personal, through the language of painting can become universal.”
Francisco holds a MFA in Painting at Slade School of Fine Arts, University College London, and a degree in Fine Arts from Universidad de Chile (2008-2012) with a Major in Painting at the same school (2013). He is currently exhibiting his third solo exhibition called ‘Utopias y Desvelos’ in the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Santiago, Chile. He is currently preparing for solo and group shows internationally in 2019.

Kirsty Adam’s work is both functional and holds aesthetic meaning, retaining the spontaneity and delicacy intrinsic to making on the potters’ wheel. A Japanese comb tool is used to create and enhance the throwing lines. Her Icelandic collection is the culmination of a research trip to Iceland to express the ‘otherworldliness’ of the landscape.
Kirsty is an award-winning ceramicist currently working from her studio in Newcastle upon Tyne. She originally trained at Brighton Art College and then on the potters’ wheel in Japan. She has developed a personal approach to throwing on the wheel using porcelain clay, to produce unique pieces for the home.
