About Clara Rêgo
"My work begins with an intuitive, almost visceral dialogue with clay, allowing it to reveal its own intelligence when given space to act. Rather than imposing form, I follow gestures that emerge from the gut, allowing accidents, tensions, and material impulses to shape the piece. This approach opens a terrain where organic structures, emotional memory, and symbolic fragments can surface naturally."

I’m interested in how these archetypes evolve and distort in a chaotic world, and how ceramics can hold new narratives of resilience, softness, and transformation."

Clara Rêgo (b. Porto, Portugal) is a multidisciplinary visual artist working primarily in sculptural ceramics. Her background includes formal studies in ceramics, fine arts, comics and illustration, as well as experience in scenography and video projection. This intersection of disciplines shapes a practice rooted in material experimentation, narrative thinking, and symbolic imagery. Rêgo’s work has been exhibited in galleries and contemporary art events nationally and internationally, including Expo 2025 Osaka, Paris Design Week, and ARTPE. She is currently based in Lisbon, where she develops ceramic sculptures and tile-based works that explore mythology, femininity, and intuitive making through a tactile, process-centred approach.
