About Matt Horne
Matt's career in ceramics began on leaving school, with a 2 year apprenticeship at an established pottery in Aylesford, Kent where he became skilled in various production throwing techniques using stoneware clay.
In 2008, Matt set up his own ceramics studio in Capel-Le-Ferne, Kent. Initially, he continued to use stoneware clay for producing domestic pottery before experimenting with more decorative work.
All of Matt's work is hand thrown on the potter's wheel using high quality porcelain.
Matt developed a particular interest in crystalline glaze, with the complexities and challenges this brings, and began to work on developing his own glazes.
He has been concentrating on crystalline glaze technique since 2009, experimenting with form and testing new glaze recipes, always trying to produce more exciting colour combinations.
Crystalline glaze produces unique, one-off contemporary finishes which compliment the trademark vase and bottle forms that Matt throws on the wheel.
Matt is currently based at a studio in West Hythe, Kent which he moved to in November 2019.

Kirsty Adam’s work is both functional and holds aesthetic meaning, retaining the spontaneity and delicacy intrinsic to making on the potters’ wheel. A Japanese comb tool is used to create and enhance the throwing lines. Her Icelandic collection is the culmination of a research trip to Iceland to express the ‘otherworldliness’ of the landscape.
Kirsty is an award-winning ceramicist currently working from her studio in Newcastle upon Tyne. She originally trained at Brighton Art College and then on the potters’ wheel in Japan. She has developed a personal approach to throwing on the wheel using porcelain clay, to produce unique pieces for the home.
