About Lina E
Lina’s approach to making ceramics entails that there is something impossible in making the same thing twice.  
 
 
Playful, gestural, intuitive, are just some of the characteristics that inform Lina E Ceramics.  Lina has a background in painting and so surface colour and texture are key concerns in the work.  Typically her pieces are vases, cups, and ‘pots’.  Anything that holds flowers ideally.  More recently Lina has also added the humble mug as one of the forms in her collection.  Form is important in so far as they are familiar but more importantly a surface on which the play of texture colour and the materiality of ceramics and glaze come together.  Observing the results of subtle changes in her glaze results Lina will often make small adjustments in the recipe or in their application.  In a sense every piece is an experiment and a springboard for something new.
 
The poignancy of the handmade object is the guarantee of its singularity.
 
Lina has a Fine Art Degree from Goldsmiths, and an MFA from Central Saint Martins
