Kirsty Adam’s work is both functional and holds aesthetic meaning, retaining the spontaneity and delicacy intrinsic to making on the potters’ wheel. A Japanese comb tool is used to create and enhance the throwing lines. Her Icelandic collection is the culmination of a research trip to Iceland to express the ‘otherworldliness’ of the landscape.
Kirsty is an award-winning ceramicist currently working from her studio in Newcastle upon Tyne. She originally trained at Brighton Art College and then on the potters’ wheel in Japan. She has developed a personal approach to throwing on the wheel using porcelain clay, to produce unique pieces for the home.

WINTER EXHIBITION
18th November 2021 - 30th January 2022
This year's Winter Exhibition is in no doubt a celebration of the digital.
As, although every piece you will see within this impressive collection is a touchable, moveable, real-life object, the digital realm has allowed us to present them to you altogether in this way. Of course we would love the physical space to bring together a collection like this but, while we dream, this boundary-less online space is here ready.
This exhibition marks the end of our first year as an online gallery, an experimental year for a gallery rooted in the 3D, and we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate it than an exhibition full of the excitement in the opportunities our website holds.
In this exhibition, we present the result of our big Open Call,
put out in far-reaching digital waves,
an invitation to artists and makers, wherever they might be
in the world, in their careers, in their confidence,
to show us (and you) what they do.
We hope you find this collection as inspiring as we do. Works by gallery favourites are mixed in with well-known names and names you heard here first to create a collection celebrating the creativity of today.
There's much to see and we hope over the 2 and a half months this exhibition will run, you will use this page to come back to and spend time on, to dive into the individual stories that makes each and every piece. We will constantly be updating it with new ways to look: curated collections will be added weekly below, as well as artist spotlights, and additional pieces will always make their way in too.
