Arjan Van Dal
'The vibrant colours of ancient Chinese porcelain are my inspiration. The colours are manually worked into the clay body. I work with a variety of hues, from electric pink, deep blue or a classic pale celadon green.
'Every piece is thrown on the potter's wheel. Subtle details uncover the maker's mark, like the throwing lines on the inside or turning lines on bottom of the pot. My main focus is on producing work that through simplicity of form and austere handling of material communicates honesty with a refined touch.'
