FROM THIS LAND Opening Sat 18th May (Special late view: 5.30-9pm) A collaboration between THROWN and OmVed Gardens as part of the Chelsea Fringe. We are extremely excited to announce our upcoming new show ‘From This Land’ which will take place both here in our gallery and in the beautiful, converted greenhouses of OmVed Gardens (just around the corner from us at 1 Townsend Yard).
This group exhibition explores connections to the natural landscape with ceramics, textiles, drawings and paintings. The show will explore twelves artists and makers’ responses to the natural environment - whether in interpreting the landscape around them, collecting natural materials to use within their work or in creating vessels to bring nature into our homes. The exhibition will also feature ikebana arrangements in response to some of the works on display by Aya Tanaka, professional Japanese flower designer and Ikebana professor, who will be leading workshops and demonstrations at OmVed Gardens throughout the week. Specially curated for the Chelsea Fringe, the show will be displayed at both venues from Sat 18th until Sun 26th May and then will continue in the gallery until 23rd June. This is a not-to-be-missed nine days for which the gallery and OmVed Gardens will be open 11am-6pm each day with a special late view on Saturday 18th May, 5.30-9pm.
