Proud to have just donated to the British Ceramic Biennial’s #SupportNewTalent appeal which aims to provide new artists with career-defining opportunities.
It's been a difficult time for all new artists with exhibitions, degree shows and fairs being cancelled and I am always wary in ceramics in particular of that confidence building time that seems to make or break whether an artist actually takes the leap - the confidence in feeling like they own this material enough, and have the opportunities ahead of them, to invest in the space and equipment that comes with working with it.
The programme shines a light on disadvantaged backgrounds, sets up talks and workshops by established artists (benefitting their practice at the same time) and has an extremely passionate aim to secure a better and more sustainable future for emerging artists
